Air LCL

Actually, the term “LCL” is officially used only for sea freight. For air shipments, the term used is Air Consolidation (air cargo consolidation), sometimes also called co-load.

Many people still refer to it as “air LCL” because the concept is the same: small shipment → consolidated with other shipments → shipped together. Air shipping is used when your cargo is not enough to book a full ULD or large space, so your goods are consolidated with shipments from other importers or shippers and sent by plane. LCL is calculated based on weight (kg) or volumetric weight, and is combined with other shipments, with faster transit compared to sea freight.

Air LCL is suitable when you have a small shipment but want it to arrive quickly, at a lower cost, and for sensitive, high-urgency goods, as shipments can arrive in 3–10 days with a minimum charge of 1 kg.
